Harbor Point: Ayala Mall in Subic Bay Opens

Harbor Point Ayala Mall in Subic Bay
The P2.5-billion Ayala project is one of the flagship investments in Subic Bay under former Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) administrator Armand Arreza. Ayala land officials said the mall is just the beginning of their expansion plans in Central Luzon. “We are definitely expanding our national presence. We have identified the Pampanga-Bataan-Zambales corridor as a key growth area, and with the opening of Harbor Point, you can say we have already deepened our presence in those areas,” Bernard Vincent O. Dy, Ayala Land executive vice-president, said in a press briefing last April 26. He said they will also build residential and office spaces. Like other Ayala malls, open spaces and rest areas are major considerations. The mall design was customer driven and resort-oriented as it blends with the environment in Subic as an outdoor experience. Ayala Land’s other developments in Central Luzon include the Anvaya Cove, a 320-hectare leisure complex in Bataan that the company developed in partnership with Subic Bay Development and Industrial Estate Corp. Harbor Point is also pushing its trade mark “active lifestyle” theme from its mall design to the various mall sponsored activities. Among the active sports to be featured in the mall are indoor football (futsal), martial arts, yoga and running.
